HARTEBEESTHOEK INFRASTRUCTURE

Proposed Associated Infrastructure as part of the authorised Hartebeesthoek Wind Energy Facilities (WEFs), near Noupoort, Northern Cape Province.

The Applicant, Hartebeesthoek Wind Power (Pty) Ltd,requires environmental authorisation of Associated Infrastructure, including a batching plant, laydown area, and crushing site, to facilitate the construction and operation of the Hartebeesthoek WEFs (DFFE Reference 14/12/16/3/3/2/1028/2/AM3 and 14/12/16/3/3/2/1029/2/AM3). The proposed development is located on Portion 15 of Farm 182, situated within the Umsobomvu Local Municipality and Pixley ka Seme District Municipality, Northern Cape Province. The town of Noupoort is located approximately 12 km southeast of the proposed development.

For the proposed development, specific infrastructure and key components are required to be authorised, constructed, and maintained, to facilitate the construction and operation of the HBH WEFs. The main components are as follows:

    • Proposed batching plant with a development footprint of up to 1,5 ha, within the 2,5 ha assessment area.
    • ⁠Proposed laydown area with a development footprint of up to 0,5 ha, within the 2,5 ha assessment area.
    • ⁠Proposed crushing site with a development footprint of up to 0,5 ha, within the 2,5 ha assessment area.
