Grid Connection Infrastructure as part of the Scatec Battery Energy Storage System near Viljoenskroon, Free State Province.

Sciatic Africa (Pty) Ltd is proposing the

development of single / double circuit 132 kV Lines and 132 kV substations. These will be assessed within a corridor. The portion of the corridor based within the Moqhaka Local Municipality, Fezile Dabi District Municipality of the Free State Province includes the Portions 2 and Remaining Extent of the Farm Zuiping No. 394, Portion 7 of the Farm Groot Vaders Bosch No. 592. The portion of the corridor based within the City of Matlosana Local Municipality, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality of the North West Province includes the Portions 3 and the Remaining Extent of Portion 4 of the Farm Modderfontein No. 440 – IP, Portions 9 and 12 of the Farm Buffelsfontein No. 443 – IP, Portions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, the remaining extent of Portion 2 and Portion 1, and the remaining extent of the Farm Mapaiskraal No. 441 – IP, Portions 80 and the remaining extent of Portion 41 of the Farm Hartebeestfontein No. 422 – IP. The town of Orkney located approximately 11 km southwest of the proposed development.
 
The substations will have a footprint of up to 1ha whilst the power lines will be assessed within a corridor, with a length of up to 6 km and width of up to 2.2 km at the area surrounding the substation.
