Boitshoko Power Line and associated Infrastructure, near Kathy, Northern Cape Province

Boitshoko Solar Power Plant (RF) (Pty) Ltd proposes the the development of grid connection infrastructure for the authorised Boitshoko Solar Power Plant (DFFE Ref.: 14/12/16/3/3/2/935).

The grid connection infrastructure includes a 132kV overhead power line and substation to enable the evacuation of the generated electricity to the national grid. Associated infrastructure, such as access roads and letdown areas will also be developed. This is considered to be the grid connection solution for the authorised solar power plant.

A wider grid connection corridor has been identified for the placement of the grid connection infrastructure. The corridor is approximately 600m wide and up to 18 km long.

The development is located to the west of the town of Kathu, traversing the R380 and falls within the Gamagara Local Municipality and the John Paolo Gaetsewe District Municipality.
