The proposed part 2 amendments as part of the authorised Boitumelo, Lerato and Kutlwano Solar Power Plants near Lichtenburg, North West Province

Boitumelo Solar Power Plant (RF) (Pty) (Ltd),  Kutlwano Solar Power Plant (RF) (Pty) Ltd and Lerato Solar Power Plant (RF) (Pty) Ltd intends to amend the Environmental Authorisations of the Boitumelo Solar Power Plant, the Kutlwano Solar Power Plant and Lerato Solar Power Plant. The developments are proposed on Portion 4 of the Farm Houthaaldoorns No. 2, situated in the Ditsobotla Local Municipality, North West Province.  The Boitumelo and Kutlwano Solar Power Plants have obtained preferred bidder status in terms of the REIPPP Programme.

The amendments requested include changes to the facility layouts as part of the optimisation process, changes to the details of the infrastructure for completeness and the change of the details of the EA Holder. Furthermore, approval of the respective project EMPrs and final layouts are also requested. 

The draft Motivation Reports (DMR) for the Boitumelo and Kutlwano projects are available for review and comment from Friday, 12 January 2024 until Monday, 12 February 2024.  

***Kindly note that the 30-day review period for the Kutlwano Project has been extended to Monday 19 February 2024.

The draft Motivation Report (DMR) for the Lerato project is available for review and comment from Tuesday, 16 January 2024 until Thursday, 15 February 2024.
