STRELITZIA ENERGY FACILITY

Strelitzia Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Associated Infrastructure near Rustenburg and Brits, North West Province.

Strelitzia Energy Facility (RF) Pty Ltd proposes the development of a BESS and required associated infrastructure such as substations and/or power lines, access roads, operation and maintenance buildings and fencing, to name a few. The capacity of the BESS will be up to 77 MW and is proposed to be bid as part of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) bid window 2 for BESS development. The development is proposed on Remaining Extent of Portion 29 of the farm Rooikoppies No. 297, Registration Division JQ. The development overlaps between the Rustenburg and Madibeng Municipality Local Municipality, Bojanala Platinum District Municipality. The town of Rustenburg is located approximately 26 km west of the proposed development, and the town of Brits is located approximately 28 km east of the proposed development.

 
An area of 32 ha is under assessment and a development footprint of 10 ha is proposed.
