Nyarhi Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and associated infrastructure near Viljoenskroon, Free State Province.

Nyarhi Solar Power Plant (RF) (Pty) Ltd proposes the development of the Nyarhi BESS and Associated Infrastructure comprising the construction of the storage system and required associated infrastructure such as substations, operation and maintenance buildings and fencing, to name a few. The capacity of the BESS will be up to 77 MW and is proposed to be bid as part of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) bid window 2 for the Battery Energy Storage Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (BESIPPPP). The development is proposed on Remaining Extent of Portion 1 of the Farm Die Hoek No. 114. The project is to be situated within the Moqhaka Local Municipality, Fezile Dabi District Municipality, with the town of Viljoenskroon located approximately 28 km southeast of the proposed development
