Jasmyn Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Associated Infrastructure near Carletonville, Gauteng Province.

Jasmyn Energy Facility (RF) Pty Ltd proposes the development of a BESS and required associated infrastructure such as substations and/or power lines, access roads, operation and maintenance buildings and fencing, to name a few. The capacity of the BESS will be up to 77 MW and is proposed to be bid as part of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) bid window 2 for BESS development. The development is proposed on Remaining Extent of Portion 35 & Remaining Extent of Portion 36 of the Farm Leeuwpoort No. 356, Registration Division JQ, situated within the Merafong City Local Municipality, West Rand District Municipality. The town of Carletonville is located approximately 14 km west of the proposed development.
