Desert Rose Energy Storage System (BESS) and Associated Infrastructure near Rustenburg, North-West Province.
 

Desert Rose Energy Facility (RF) (Pty) Ltd. proposes the development of a BESS a

and required associated infrastructure such as substations and/or power lines, access roads, operation and maintenance buildings and fencing, to name a few. The capacity of the BESS will be up to 77 MW and is proposed to be bid as part of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) bid window 2 for BESS development. The development is proposed on Portion 3 of the Farm Wildebeestfontein No. 274, Registration Division JQ, situated within the Rustenburg Local Municipality, Bonjanala Platinum District Municipality. The town of Rustenburg is located approximately 8 km southeast of the proposed development.
 
An area of 79.4 ha is under assessment and a development footprint of 10 ha is propose.
